From what I learnt from Organziational Behaviour, the Johari Window is "a model of mutual understanding that encourages disclosure and feedback to increase our own open area and reduce the blind, hidden and unknown areas."
It divides information into four windows based on whether our own values, beliefs, and experiences are known to us and others or not
The goal is to maximize your open area window/section which can be done by reducing hidden area by sharing and telling others our beliefs, how we feel, and experience that may/can influence the relationship. Also our open window increases from getting feed back from others.

A window air conditioner must be fitted in the window. The back end generates hot air and some drip water. Some can fit in a wall but still the back half is outside.

Hidden self.
Johari's Window is important as a self-awareness tool that helps individuals understand themselves better by exploring how they see themselves versus how others perceive them. It promotes improved communication, enhances relationships, and fosters personal and professional growth by expanding one's self-awareness and understanding of others.
The main purpose of the Johari Window interpersonal tool is to increase your skill at communication with other people. This method is highly recommended in the business world as a way to increase work place productivity.
The Johari Window is a model that represents self-awareness and mutual understanding in relationships. It categorizes information into four quadrants: open, blind, hidden, and unknown. The goal is to increase the open area by sharing information to enhance effective communication and collaboration.
The blind spot and facade quadrants need to shrink in order to gain greater self-awareness. This involves receiving feedback from others and reflecting on our own behavior and thoughts to uncover hidden aspects of ourselves. By bringing these areas into the open, we can improve our self-understanding and personal growth.

Johari Window: A model of mutual understanding that encourages disclosure and feedback to increase our own open area and reduce the blind, hidden and unknown areas.
The Johari window is used as a tool to improve and illustrate self awareness. The hidden area of the model has messages that are things you know about yourself but others do not know.
