An American robin builds a cup-shaped nest using grass, mud, and other plant materials. The nest is typically located in trees, shrubs, or even on ledges and is lined with finer materials like feathers or soft plant fibers for insulation. It is usually constructed by the female robin, who shapes it to provide a safe environment for her eggs and chicks. The nest is often situated in a sheltered spot to protect it from predators and the elements.
like a normal one i think :]
if a robin did not know how to make nest then, a robin wont be able to have babies and it would be to hard for them to live in a tree ,because they might get pricked by the little branches. thank you
It takes about 3 days for a robin to build its nest!!
A robin may build a nest and not return to it for several reasons, including disturbances from predators, environmental changes, or human interference that could make the location unsafe. Additionally, if the female robin feels that the nest is in a poor location or if she is unable to lay eggs due to health issues or stress, she might abandon it. In some cases, she may simply choose to build a new nest in a more suitable area.
after the babies are gone
Th American Robin makes it in a cup of mud reinforced with grasses and twigs and placed in a tree, or on a ledge or windowsill.
