ANSWER

Calcite is really not a rock it is a mineral therefore it can not really be metamorphic , sedimentary , or igneous. But it is usually associated in materials of sediment so most likely it is sedimentary. If you would have to pick one. SEDIMENTARY

What classification or kind of rocks results when rocks eroded from higher elevations accumulate at lower elevations?

asial sedimentary igneous metamorphic

How do metamorphic rocks form from igneous rocks and sedimentary rocks?

If any kind of rock-igneous or sedimentary- is far enough beneath the surface, the pressure can change it into a metamorphic rock. Also heat - the effects differ. It doesn't have to be ever so deeply buried, geologically, since metamorphism is usually a orogenic process in the affected sedimentary rock.

How can sedimentary and igneous rocks be formed in to metamorphic rocks?

No matter what kinds of rocks they are they can be changed into any other kind of rock. Sedimentary rocks and igneous rocks can become metamorphic rocks with either contact or regional metamorphism. This means that either the rocks have been in contact with or close to high heat and high pressure that changes the rock.

What are sedimentary rocks made of?

Sedimentary rocks can be made from any kind of material, from other rocks to shells to plant material. Basically, any rock, from metamorphic to igneous and even to sedimentary, can be weathered and eroded. These particles and grains can be carried great distances by wind, water, ice, etc. before they are deposited and lithified (cemented) back together to form sedimentary rocks.

What happens to a fossil when the sedimentary rock it was in turned into a metamorphic rock?

As in what process causes this? if so it is usually under heat and pressure. Depending on what kind of rick it is depends on the resultant metamorphic rock e.g Shale-->Slate etc
