Riolu evolves into Lucario when it is leveled up with high friendship during the day.
Riolu is #447 in the National Pokedex, and was introduced in the Generation IV Pokemon titles (Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum) where it could only be found by hatching the egg received from Riley. In Generation VI (X and Y), it can be found on Route 22, or through a Friend Safari.

Here's some information on how to make it evolve in Pokemon Diamond Version:
- You must have a Riolu. (of course)
- Give your Riolu a soothe bell to make it happier. (sorry, I don't know where to get a soothe bell, I got mine from a trade.)
- Go to the 2nd floor in the pokemart in Veilstone City and get 10 proteins, or any other kind, and give them to your Riolu.
- After you did that, go back to Veilstone City and go to a house near the gym, (it's on the right on the side, first house) there will be a lady there that will give your Pokemon a massage. Give the massage to your Riolu. When she's finished, she will give you some sparkly glitter for your fashion case (if it's your first time giving your Pokemon a massage).
- If your Riolu is at level 1, fly to TwinLeaf Town and fight a Pokemon in the tall grass, you can only fight a level 2 or 3. (For the people who have a higher leveled Riolu, just travel to the nearest town and fight a Pokemon near your level in tall grass, or maybe more then one if it didn't level up in one fight.) When you defeat the Pokemon, your Riolu will level up and then evolve into Lucario.
