I'll assume you mean cold weather. Proper clothing, sheltering, and logistic support, little of which Hitler or Napoleon had. All of which the Finns had in the Finnish/Russion war. It's also important to differentiate between an army fighting on it's own soil from and invader. As we see in Afganistan a poorly equipped army that knows the terrain, has lived in bad weather condition all their lives has an advantage.

When the first winter came many died from hyperthermia. In addition to the above, when Russia started to overcome the Germans, they encircled many troops in their advance. This led to disease, malnutrition, and terrible conditions.
