Depends. Are you producing 'Spiderman 4' or some Indie called 'Kelly'? The budgets for big blockbuster films (especially superhero flicks) can be like 500 million. An independent film budget could be 2 million if they're lucky. So you can't really ask that referring to any movie. But generally a fair portion of the budget.

The question is in the past I believe, so it requires a different answer !
