AnswerWow, ID1177301194 put ANSWER in the answer box. Okay, well you should start with getting the materials.

Materials

  • 2 D cell batteries [use alkaline instead of heavy-duty (carbon-zinc) batteries]
  • (2) 5" pieces of number 22 insulated copper bell wire with approximately 1" of insulation stripped off all ends
  • Cardboard tube (toilet tissue or paper towel) cut to 4" in length
  • PR6, or number 222, 3-volt flashlight bulb
  • 2 brass fasteners (brads)
  • 1" x 3" cardboard strip
  • Paper clip
  • Tape
  • Bathroom-size paper cup
Note: You can use C or AA or even AAA batteries. You just need something smaller to hold and contain the batteries and the won't last as long.

Procedures
  1. Push brass fasteners through tube. Attach a paper clip. This clip will be like an on and off switch.
  2. Inside the tube, attach a wire to each brass fastener. Tape batteries together and insert one into each tube, (+) to (-).
  3. Tape one end of wire very securely to bottom of one battery's negative (-) terminal.
  4. Pass other wire end through a hole (large enough to insert light bulb) in center of cardboard strip. Then twist the wire around bulb and insert the bulb into cardboard strip. This strip, when taped to tube, will position bulb for contact to positive (+) terminal.
  5. Use a paper cup as a reflector by inserting bulb through a hole punched in bottom of cup. Tape securely.

What are different about car and flashlight batteries?

Automobile batteries are STORAGE batteries. They do not make electricity, but store electricity made by something else (usually the alternator in the automobile) until it is needed. MOST flashlight batteries MAKE electricity by a chemical reaction, cannot be recharged, and are used up. (Exception is a rechargeable flashlight battery, such as Ni-Cads) Car batteries also have several cells inside one container, but each flashlight battery is a single cell. Car batteries store much more electrical current than is found in a single flashlight battery. They are also a LOT heavier- imagine carrying a flashlight with a 40 pound battery!
