In my school book, i'm pretty sure it said no one has died from spacesit failires

Apollo 1- a launch pad test resulted in a fire in the space capsule exacerbated by the fact that, at that time, NASA had a high oxygen atmosphere in space capsules, which greatly intensified the fire. The 3 astronauts in the capsule were killed, Grissom, White and Chaffee. They were the only Astronauts lost in the Apollo program.
If they ever were that unfortunate, a tiny tear in a space suit could kill you almost instantly. That and the fact that space junk travels an average of 36,000 kmph (Kilometers per hour).
Astronauts wear spacesuits due to the absence of pressure in space. They need to maintain the pressure level on Earth by isolating themselves from actual space. For the helmets: there is no oxygen in space. Humans require oxygen to live, inhaling it through their nose and mouth. Therefore if they do not wear helmets, they will die instantly from loss of oxygen.
Astronauts require less sleep than normal; Theoretically because the astronauts always have to be alert in a dangerous setting like space.
They will die. There appears to be some question as to whether they will freeze to death or if they would explode from the internal body pressure.
Well, some astronauts do. Not all astronauts will die in space, but some will if the mission went wrong or if it is just being there when you die of natural causes.
Gloves and boots are used for each and every mission in which astronauts are in space or on the moon. They are integral to any closed space suit. Without them astronauts would subjected to the vacuum of space and die almost instantly.
The Soviet Union may have lost several astronauts in flight in the 1960's and early '70's. However, the Soviet Union was also very secretive about their space program; they never made any announcements until after the flight had landed. And even then, they would sometimes lie about details. The first American astronauts to die during a space mission were the crew of the Challenger space shuttle.
So far, zero.As far as is known to the public, no astronaut has ever died in spaceon a mission after launch.

because they will have to take there hat off and then die
See: how did the astronauts die in the Challenger disaster.
14 shuttle crew members have died since 1986. Challenger and Columbia
Six astronauts and one civilian teacher died in the Challenger explosion. They were: Francis R. "Dick" Scobee, commander Michael J. Smith, pilot Ellison Onizuka, Mission Specialist 1 Judith A. Resnik, Mission Specialist 2 Ronald McNair, Mission Specialist 3 Sharon Christa McAuliffe (civilian) Payload Specialist 1 Gregory Jarvis, Payload Specialist 2
in space. Nevermind, the astronauts wear space suits because otherwise they would die due to the Sun's radiation and the extremely low temperatures in space. And because there isn't air in space.

It is the only one close enough to the Earth. The weight of the equipment for the longer journeys is not yet capable of being launched into space. It is a large and riskful mission. Scientist have made special gear so they wont die. Also because they have been to school and have studied about the moon and outer space.
