The place it's based off would be ubud and some in jimbaran, but honestly those scenes in the movie do not look like Bali, the markets are wrong and the landscapes don't match.. And the people are definitely not Balinese (admitted by the production). Also, it showed a cactus in the climbing scene, those are definitely not in Bali.
