From 1975 to 1977 she worked as a book editor at Viking Press.

From 1978 to the 1990's she worked at Doubleday Publishing. Jackie started as a associate editor, in 1982 she was promoted to full editor, later she became a

senior editor.

Before she married (after college) JFK she had won a writing contest sponsored

by Vogue. As a winner she received a yearlong position as a trainee. I'm not sure if she took it or not, one says she did one says she did not. Jackie was also a photographer for the Washington Times-Herald.
