Autumn is also called fall. It officially starts on September 21st the Autumnal Equinox and ends on December 20th. The next day December 21st the Winter Solstice which marks the beginning of winter. The the Autumnal equinox and its corresponding Spring Equinox occur when the sun reaches it highest point on the equator.

This is the season when leaves wither and fall to the ground. The weather becomes colder. Animals start to store food. Others migrate to warmer places to escape the cold.
