Try to make them a nice dinner alone, pretend that you are crying about the parent fighting and they will feel bad, tell them that when you grow up you are going to tell your boyfriend or girlfriend to say what they are saying know, if you know where are some pictures of them smiling show them that and tell them that smiling at each other is better than fighting, scream when they are always fighting, tell them that if they fight then you, your brothers and sisters are going to learn the things that they are doing while they are fighting. First, how does this make you feel? (sad, mad, scared, insecure... just be honest) Then when you have the opportunity (not while they are fighting) share with them how it makes you feel when they fight. BTW is is normal for them to have disagreements but if they can not agree to disagree or compromise it is dysfunctional and has a negative affect on the whole family. If this fails, find someone you can talk to ... maybe a pastor, youth leader, school counselor or an 800 abuse hot-line.

This plan should be arranged by organising a meeting with the parents (and potentially the child, depending on the child's age), in order to discuss the concerns of all parties. It helps if the parents have a clear idea of what they would like to be done to help their child; bring along a "checklist" of what should be done/who to call should their child have a seizure at school. The school should be prepared to give the child any necessary medication or first aid. If there is a school nurse, she should be made aware of the child's condition.
