What size are Dorothy's slippers in the original Wizard of Oz?

Each pair of ruby slippers is a slightly different size. Those in the Smithsonian are both 5C and 5BC, as they are not a matching set. Another pair, previously owned by collector Michael Shaw before they were stolen in 2005 were similarly, if oppositely, sized. Another pair, believed to be used for close-ups, are size 5B, while a larger pair exist, size 6B, which many people believe were not used by Judy Garland, but rather by her stand-in.

In the beloved 1939 film version, Dorothy wore three sets of shoes. One were the practical walkingshoes of the Kansas sequences. Another were the RubySlippers that she inherited through the accidental death of the Wicked Witch of the East. And the third were the blackbedroom slippers that Frances Ethel Gumm ka Judy Garland [June 10, 1922-June 22, 1969] wore in the scene with the aggressive apple trees.
