Age-old social institutions are being replaced by modern institutions even in villages and remote areas. Family structure, village power-structure, bondages of castes, cultural values, institutions like marriage, peer-group, reference groups etc. are in the process of transformation in accordance with the economic values generated by world economy, particularly to match with the forces of market ecoomy. However, as the political leadership lacked/s the will to implement the constitutional mandate (as given in the preamble itself), natural resource is still in the hands of some powerful political and economic goons. This has widen the gap not only between the castes and groups but also amongst the economic blocks and regions. Ethical and moral values have been replaced by money-values leading corruption on one side. and providing opportunities to form new institutions withwome sort of democratic human values for sustainability of the system itself. So called traditional Indian value system has been placed at the periphery of the society for observation of marginalized people. Transformation of Indian society having democratic values in operation may be accelerated by the academics and officers of repute.

After independence, India was partitioned into India & Pakistan. Next, the Indian cities became more developed then the rural areas. Most importantly, India was one country; not different states ruled by kings. Now India had only one president. These were the important changes.

Answer India after independence. We are celebrating our 60th anniversary of independence. And ofcourse after continued struggle by our freedom fighter we got independence from British reign. If we compare the periods before the independence, then ofcourse we have made much development in almost every field. The lives of the people before the independence were very miserable. They were ruled by external powers. But now we are free from externals. We have our demoracy which means we have our own rule.

In these 6 decades after independece Indian economy has rised very much. Rapid growth in industrial sectors are making our economy very strong. And it is being expected that in some years Indian economy will be like other developed economies. If we compare our economy with our some neighbouring countries then ofcourse, we are far better than them. But unfortunately, as compared to developed countries, we have to still make much efforts to be like them and better than them. Japan which is smaller than India, but still it is very fast in technology.

We know that India is a country of villages and its entirely dependent on agriculture. But inspite of having fast technology, our Indian farmers are very backward. They use backward methods in agriculture.

Our Government is spending alot for educating entire mass of population, but only a small section of people are being benefitted by these things. Here rich are becoming richest but the conditions of the poor are worsening.

Corruption in public sectors has become a system in which entire section of the people are involved. If anybody is protesting against this, then he is killed. His family becomes helpless. I have a good example. Before 5 years, when i was in my village, a police officer was murdered only because he was against dishonesty. A gang of criminals had loaded a truck with illegal things. After caught by police, the tried to give him bribe and be free from police. But that police officer refused to take bribe. Then a group of them shot him with bullets. And he died on the spot. And his family became helpless. This is the condition of our country where if someone is honest, he is murdered.

I never forgot that incident. At that time I was just 12 or 13 years old but still it made me very sad.

The major social changes in India is the invention of Persian wheel(irrigation),fire arms(combat)and the spinning wheel(weaving). These changes completely changed the people's lifestyle who lived in the medieval period. medieval people lived beside rivers to cultivate barren lands with the help of irrigation.they reared rich crops in their granary and secured their uncertain life from famine and chronic starvation.

The multi party system in India has led to more representation in the heterogeneous society. Different parties represent different groups within the nation, whether that be based on religion, region, state, language, race. The political power of each of these parties determines which social issues become part of the political agenda.
