How did Othello die?

Desdemona is killed by Othello, Iago kills Emilia (his wife) as Emilia reveals that Desdemona has been falsely accused of adultery and then Othello kills himself rather than live with what he has done. In Act V, Cassio kills Roderigo after Roderigo attempts to stab Cassio (he wants Cassio dead so that he can keep Othello and Desdemona from leaving the country, and get closer to Desdemona, whom he loves from afar). Unfortunately, instead of Roderigo's sword penetrating Cassio's flesh, he finds that Cassio has armor on, and stabs Roderigo back.

What do Iago and Roderigo hope to accomplish by shouting insulting remarks about Othello and Desdemona under Brabantio's window?

They want Desdemona's father, Brabantio, to come out and kill Othello, because they know that Desdemona and Othello are getting illegally wedded. Iago hates Othello and wants him dead because Cassio gave Othello a position in the military that Iago believed he deserved.

How did Othello meet Desdemona?

Othello was a frequent guest at the house of Desdemona's father.

Who is Desdemona's father in Othello?

Brabantio is Desdemona's father. He becomes very upset when Desdemona elopes with Othello and accuses Othello of committing witchcraft in order to woo his daughter. Othello denies any wrongdoing and Brabantio warns Othello that if Desdemona deceived her father, she can deceive Othello as well. Brabantio dies from a broken-heart resulting from Desdemona's marriage.

Why did Othello kill Desdemona?

Iago had lied to Othello and convinced him that Desdemona was secretly having sex with Cassio.

Which character recruits lago to woo Desdemona for himself?

Roderigo pays Iago large sums of money to help Roderigo's attempt to woo Desdemona. Iago just pockets the money because not only is Desdemona totally committed to Othello, but could never be interested in a twit like Roderigo.

Why does Iago stab Roderigo in Shakespeare's Othello?

Iago has been systematically conning Roderigo out of his money, saying that he is using it to try to get Desdemona to dump Othello and go for Roderigo instead. Iago knows that Desdemona will never do this, and has been simply pocketing the money. Roderigo is starting to catch on, so Iago feeds him the same line about Cassio and Desdemona having an affair and sets Roderigo on to murder Cassio. His objective is to get rid of both of them. Roderigo does stab Cassio, who Iago takes for dead, so Iago kills Roderigo himself.
