A family living in a Funeral Palor and the boy has cancer
The Haunting in Connecticut is (loosely) based on the purportedly true story of a family whose eldest son fell ill with cancer, causing them to move to a house in Connecticut that had at one point been a mortuary. There is a documentary by Discovery Channel called A Haunting in Connecticut that chronicles the story from the actual family's perspective.
The 2002 documentary "A Haunting in Connecticut" was produced by the Discovery Channel. It and the 2009 film "The Haunting in Connecticut" are loosely based on the story of the Snedeker family who witnessed unusual phenomena in their home in Connecticut, apparently because it was originally a mortuary. No. Not at all. This movie was taken from the book, In A Dark Place by Ray Garton. When I first contacted Ray, prior to the release of this movie, he was giving interviews explaining that it was a concocted story, that it was in no way true. This and other movies like it are nothing more that money making machines.
The documentary "A Haunting in Connecticut" was released on DVD in 2008. *Not to be confused with the major motion picture "The Haunting in Connecticut" which was released to DVD on July 14, 2009.
The haunting in Connecticut is based on the true story of the Snedeker family, who experienced unsettling events after moving into a former funeral home in the 1980s. While the family's accounts were documented and gained media attention, many skeptics question the authenticity of their claims, attributing the phenomena to psychological stress and grief. The events were dramatized in the 2009 film "The Haunting in Connecticut," which takes creative liberties with the true story. Overall, while the family's experiences were real to them, the objective reality of the haunting remains debated.

Connecticut haunting? If you are referring to the story in the movie The Haunting In Connecticut, it was seen as a case on one of the ghost shows on the Discovery Channel. The original story was changed a little from the movie. The original story was about a family who heard a rattling every night in the house from a kid who supposedly lived there centuries before. Hollywood was responsible for the part about the kid with cancer and everything, but like all of these ghost stories, there is never real solid proof.

The main male actor in The Haunting in Connecticut is Kyle Gallner.
The "true story" claims by the film are supposedly based upon the paranormal activities experienced by the family of Carmen Snedeker in the 1980s. Carmen Snedeker's paranormal accounts have also been covered in episodes of 'A Haunting' and 'Paranormal Witness'.
