I'm asking that same question but ill tell you what i know. you need a bachelors degree in engineering, math, or science and you have to be physically fit. you also need to work well with a team. the first two are the only real requirements. oh and you get a background check too. yayayayay

∙ 9y agoIn addition to a minimum of a bachelor's degree in mathematics, engineering, or science, astronauts must complete at least 1,000 hours of pilot-in-command time in jet aircraft. And, all astronauts must complete a space physical.

∙ 14y agoWell they have to join the core as a pilot if you want to be a pilot or acommander. Plus you must go through two years of training. IF you don't want to be a pilot then you don't need to do the core but still the two years of training. and any majors in engineering will MOST DEFINITELY help.
