The Amazon River runs through the Amazon. The Amazon rainforest [Floresta Amazonia] is known as the Amazon Jungle and as Amazonia. It's a forest that covers most of the Amazon River Basin of South America. Brazil has 60 percent of the rainforest within its borders. The Amazon River originates in the Peruvian Andes within about 100 miles [160 kilometers] of the Pacific Ocean. It flows across northern Brazil to empty into the Atlantic Ocean.

No. The most distant source of the Amazon River is a glacial stream on a snowcapped mountain peak in the Peruvian Andes. The Amazon River flows from this source to its mouth, where it empties into the Atlantic Ocean. The Amazon Rain Forest grows on either side of the Amazon River and its many tributaries, but does not come in contact with the Pacific Ocean because of the Andes mountain range. Refer to the related links for a satellite photo of the Amazon Rain Forest.
There is no such river.

As the length of the Andes is in excess of 7000km long, they contain the sources of literally hundreds of rivers. Many of these flow to the Pacific in the West, but many of those rivers that flow to the East eventually flow into the Amazon. The most distant source of the Amazon from its outflow into the sea is a glacial stream on Nevado Mismi (18,363 ft high) in the Peruvian Andes. This progresses into the Ucayali which joins the Marañón and eventually the Amazon itself.
The long Amazon River flows from Peru all the way through Brazil to the Atlantic Ocean. The Amazon River, which is the largest river on earth (by volume) and the second largest (in length), shorter than only the Nile of Africa, begins in the Peruvian Andes. The Amazon is an aggregate of numerous water sources. However it is widely accepted that the river's water source that is farthest from the mouth of the river is a glacial stream stemming from the mountain Nevado Mismi, which is located in the Peruvian Andes. The flow of water is joined by many other rivers and eventually flows into the Atlantic Ocean at the mouth of the Amazon.
The source of the Amazon is in Brazil.
