JK rowling's mother died from some disease and her life was really difficult after that. She wasn't very close to her father so that explains why there are so many father figures for Harry (sirius, lupin, dumbledore). Also, there came a time when JK wasn't sure if she should believe in God and the afterlife; idk if she still doesn't believe.. She was preeeeettttttyyy depressed.
