EDIT: He wasn't a furniture salesman. The man that Roxie murdered during "All That Jazz", Fred Casely, was a furniture salesman. Amos' line is "Fred Casely. How could he be a burglar? My wife knows him! He sold us our furniture! He gave us 10% off". Later when Amos is meeting with Billy, Amos admits to not having the $5,000 Billy requested for his services. Amos says he borrowed money from the guys down at the garage. During "Roxie", Roxie says, "He makes love to me like he's fixing a carborator or somethin'..." He works in a car repair shop, not a furniture store.
