Lauri Törni (28th of May 1919 -- 18th of October 1965) was a knight of the Mannerheim, and he served in the Finland army as a captain, in the 1941 in the SS team as a Untersturmführer and in the 1945 as a Hauptsturmführer (captain).
In the United States army Törni served as a captain and after his death, he was promoted to be a major.
Also in the December of 2006 Törni was chosen in the reader vote of a Finnish Suomen Sotilas (Finnish Soldier) to be the bravest Mannerheim knight of all.
