Ladies always wore hose, some still wore hats and gloves, men wore ties, polished their shoes....they sang hymns, sometimes more casual songs on Sunday nights. Pants for women were taboo at church until the 1970's in the South. Churches were segregated, there was the rebellion of teens starting against going to church. Dancing was a hot issue in the main denominations. People smoked outside or in their cars in the parking lots.
Tough.
In the 1960s, excommunication was a very real threat to Roman Catholics.Excommunication takes away the church membership of a Catholic who authorities believe is an unrepentent sinner.Excommunication is like being excluded and snubbed by your friends.

The Catholic Charismatic Church of Canada does not have a specific founding date. It is a movement within the Catholic Church that emerged in the late 1960s and early 1970s, characterized by an emphasis on spiritual gifts such as speaking in tongues, healing, and prophecy. It is not a separate church but rather a renewal movement within Catholicism.
