the most interesting part of this spectacular movie (based on a true story) is when charles (the main character) spoofs all over his dogs anus while his uncles tittys are flaping in the wind slaping against his armpits filled with cow nectar. (cow nectar is the equivalent of wind deficiency)
The occult plot side lines- where the Sea Witch ( Ursula) appears in attractive human form to help sabotage the wedding- and a charicature of a Minister as a horny- dirty old man type - unfortunately this could happen- the filmed cartoon had a strong Rebel Yell ( or Atlantean equivalent) King Neptune forbids Ariel to associate with surface people, she seeks a witch doctor (Dope pusher in real life?) and seems to profit from her open parental defiance. There are undertones of an Electra complex ( not the Earhart variety) and the absence of a Mother character ( presumably deceased) poses other problems- Daddy Loves Ariel, doesn"t want competition- it is sordid stuff.
To me ..... I'd say the part where her dad granted her wish to be a human.
