The U.S. House of Reps defeated a bill this Wednesday Jan 28 2009 to postpone the transition from analog to DTV digital television for to June 12 2009. House Republicans succeeded to pass the over 2/3 majority vote, less than two days after the Senate unanimously passed the plan. The defeat is a setback for Obama and Democrats on who fear too many Americans are not ready for the switchover. Yet if the bill is passed it could mean millions of dollars for the television station and broadcasting networks. FYI-People who subscribe to cable or satellite TV, or have a newer TV with a digital tuner, are not affected.
