back in the 1920s, people paid about a nickel to see a movie. that's how the movies got the name nickelodeons

My Mother was born in 1924 in Alexandria MN. She recalls paying a nickel as a child, if she was 5 then 1929 for a matinee, with Cartoons and news reels.
