Zeus, the king of the Greek gods, had several consorts and wives throughout mythology. His primary wife was Hera, the goddess of marriage and family. Other notable consorts included Metis, the goddess of wisdom; Themis, the goddess of justice; and Leto, the mother of Apollo and Artemis. Zeus's numerous affairs often resulted in many offspring, contributing to his complex family tree in Greek mythology.
