Obviously, the negative effect of Titanic was the deaths of 1,496 people, the widowing-and-orphaning of many survivors, and uncounted losses of wealth-and-property.

Any positive effects would have been from lessons learned, such as monitoring of wireless telegraphs done 24-hours-a-day, enough lifeboats made available for ALL passengers, and the International Ice Patrol being founded to track potentially harmful icebergs.
