Best Answer

1) When invited by a member of the household.

2) When in 'fresh pursuit' of an offender.

3) During the service of a warrant.

4) Under "exigent" circumstances (i.e.- fire - medical emergency - a crime or abuse is observed in plain view - etc).

It is difficult to enumerate ALL the possible scenarios that might cause them to enter but as a general rule, without any "probable cause to believe" that an offense is being committed or is in progress they do not have the lawful authority to enter against the homeowner's wishes.

Yes, If you are in a car in your Driveway and it has the apearance of being Drivable the Policeman can stop and question you under the Local Traffic Laws.

The underlying idea is that if the car is an operable car on a surface connected to the public road you are on the road.

If the courts have given you "house arrest" then there are time regulations that go along with that. Consider yourself lucky if you are under house arrest. "If you keep breaking the rules then you pay the dues!" This is the only reason I can see police coming and arresting you for leaving your home. My advice to you is ... get your head out of that ego-tripping cloud and realize the rules aren't set for everyone else but you. I'd advise you to pay attention! It's your call ... follow the rules or the cops will help you follow them.
