The first ever TV special featuring the Gosselins Surviving Sextuplets and Twins aired on May 14th 2006.
But the premiere episode of 'Jon & Kate Plus 8' aired on April 10th, 2007.
TLC crammed 5 seasons of the show into the 2 years and 7 months that it was on the air.

∙ 14y agoSeptember 29, 2009 TLC announced that starting November 2, 2009, 'Jon & Kate Plus 8' will be renamed 'Kate Plus Eight' to reflect the changing nature of the Gosselin family.
There will probably never be a season 6 of 'Jon & Kate Plus 8' - but the Gosselins appeared destined to continue to live on-screen through other reality shows.
If there is a 6th season of 'Jon and Kate Plus 8', it will probably start sometime in 2010.Season 5 of 'Jon and Kate Plus 8' will start broadcasting May 25, 2009 and Season 4 broadcast June 23, 2008 - March 23, 2009.

∙ 14y agoThe first episode of 'Jon and Kate Plus 8' was broadcast on TLC (The Learning Channel) April 10, 2007. Prior to the reality series, the Gosselin family was featured in 2 specials: "Surviving Sextuplets and Twins" (May 2006) and "Sextuplets and Twins: One Year Later" (January 2007). During an August 25, 2009 interview with Larry King, Kate said they started shooting in 2005. It is a little confusing.
