When does Buneary evolve into Lopunny and Golbat evolve into Crobat?

Buneary and Golbat both evolve via happiness. If they are levelled up when their happiness is high enough (220 out of a maximum 255) they will evolve into Lopunny and Crobat respectively. You can increase a Pokemon's happiness by: walking 256 steps with the Pokemon in your party, levelling the Pokemon up, using healing items or EV berries on the Pokemon or giving it a massage.

(In Eterna City Pokemon Centre a woman will give you the 'Freindship Checker' app for the Poketch. 2 large hearts indicate a happiness value of 220 or higher.)

Both Buneary and Golbat start with a base happiness of 0. Depressing, I know. You have to make these Pokemon extremely happy for them to evolve. Some ways of doing this:

~Put them first in your party.

~Make sure they never faint or have to run away.

~Give them the kind of Poffin that they like.

~Pokemon really love it when you give them Protein. (ups Attack stat)

~During battle, give them X Attack, X Defense, X Accuracy, etc.

~Just give them random things to show you care. <3

P.S. You can check your Pokemon's happiness on Poketech app 6, where they float around. You know your Pokemon is really happy when two hearts pop up then enlarge when you hold you stylus over a Pokemon.

This is not true. You do not have to trade with and item. I raised mine from a Zubat.
