When ichigo uses the final getsuga tenshou does he lose his powers forever?

Urahara said he will lose his powers when he blanks out again. He will regain his powers because his dad once lost his powers but they returned, ryuken ishada's dad talked about this, so he knew abot the final gt and used it and his powers returned
edit by macauley1415 it is believed Isshin Kurosaki (ichigo's dad) lost his powers from the final getsuga tensho. the reason he can use this is because his zanpacto has probably got getsu i believe im quoting this part from a forum post a while ago and got them back with the hougyoku but now that's no longer in the story how ichigos gets his powers back change depending on if you read the manga or watch the anime. (from here its pretty big spoilers i guess) in the manga ichigo trains to use a full bring only to have that taken away only to be given soul reaper powers from rukia, renji, byakuya, toshiro and kenpachi by using a method similar to how he got his powers at the very beginning whereas in the anime it has them artificially making ichigos spiritual pressure from his reiatsu.(both anime and manga have him completely lose his powers before getting them back)

Sadly...yes. Soon after he hits Aizen with the final Getsuga Tenshou, his shingami powers fade away. I've heard rumors that he might get them back, but who knows...It all depends on Tite Kubo's decision. I hope he does!!;)

Hi yes Ichigo does learn a new technique from the Vizards. He learns to control the hollow that resides in him, and in return he is able to use the hollows powers for about 11 seconds, but that greatly increases in how long he can use it and in its power when he goes to the Hueco Mundo. In the Hueco Mundo Arc, Ichigo is at the brink of death as he's fighting the fourth espada, Ulquiorra Schiffer, and in a last ditch attempt to save Orehimme he looses control and transforms into what may be the Vizard equivalent of an Espada's resurection form or something similar. What ever the case truly is, Ichigo looses control of his actions and even though he defeats Uloquiorra, he also badly injures his friends. and now getsuga tenshou isn't even just Ichigo's attack his father can use it to... so basically ichigo's zanpactou can't do anything special. And now he's learning the "Final Getsuga Tenshou" but I honestly thinks it's kinda lame since it's just like a powerup from him normal one. :P

After Mugetsu, Ichigo loses almost all of his Reiatsu right after the technique. He will then gradually and slowly lose the rest of his Shinigami Reiatsu in a month or so. It is possible to regain those powers afterwards, by developping your Fullbring (What Ichigo actually did :D )

Ok people been hearing many different answers like Gin killed Aizen but... it wasnt him The real person the killed Aizen was Ichigo (I wouldn't be surprised) there was a duel between them as Aizen almost killed Gin with one blow with his sword then Ichigo stepped in before Aizen killed this other soul reaper (haha sorry don't know her name) after Ichigo set down his dad on the ground Ichigo wanted to make a deal to fight somewhere else then where there is a whole lot of people but Aizen said no after Ichigo grabbed Aizen by the face flew in the air found a far spot from everyone and throw him at the ground after that they talk for a little then they faught Aizen swing his sword at Ichigo but he block it with his and a huge rock just slice in half and evaporated in the sir Aizen taught that was his sword but Ichigo told him the true that the rock that evaporated was from his sword... Ichigo flew to Aizen and hit him with his sword and it damage him pretty bad but Aizen turned in a full hallow creature thing and tried to kill Ichigo but Ichigo use his newest move "The Final Getsuga Tenshou" and Ichigo was the move was Ichigo's hair turn really long and black Ichigo used the move sliced Aizen in half but to do the move Ichigo would have to loose his soul reaper powers! Itchigo lost his powers and Aizen was still alive but Badly injured by Ichigo's blast then Ichigo's teacher (forgot name also but he has 2 children living with him with a cool hat) stepped in and put a seal on Aizen after the seal took effect Aizen died. So Mostly Aizen died from Ichigo and a little of his teacher help too.
