call childline 0800 1111

If child is emotionally abused they can contact the Child Protective Agency and they will make an assesmant and valuate the situation. They will find you a new home if need be, Running away is not allowed and as a minor you can not move out as you please without parental permission. In a situation like this the state would take over custody.

If a parent is a drug addict will the child become addicted?

Everyone has a choice, if they don't do drugs. However, given the chaos that usually reigns in addicted families, the likelihood of that is small. Without proper guidance and example, kids tend to do as they've seen their parents do. Even if there is no chemical addiction, we could expect emotional disorders serious enough to need, if not demand, attention.

What is the seriousness of bullying?

Bullying can be a very serious matter, depending on the severity of it. Harmless taunts and insults like "you suck", or other friendly banter won't be considered very serious. However, if someone is to constantly insult another person in an alarming way, such as death threats and physical actions against the person, it can be considered very serious. In another way of taking the question, it is a very serious problem in the world, and from what I have seen in my research on it, not nearly enough is being done on it.
