When will the new season of Doctor Who start?

From what I heard on some BBC forums, Doctor Who might only be a miniseries but they said not to jump to conclusions. They have already released a snippet of what the new 1st episode is going to be about. You can find it on YouTube if they haven't already deleted it. It will show the Doctor arrive in his Tardis in a setting almost identical to the Christmas Carol scene with Ebenezer Scrooge. As for when it really comes out...they're still not sure.
