The show's creators were striving to reach 65 episodes. 26 episodes of The Spectacular Spider-Man were produced in total.
The series stopped production with a renewal dependent upon the ratings for season 2 on the U.S. Disney XD channel and the sales of the DVDs. If the third season were to have gone ahead, producer Greg Weisman stated that Scorpion and Hobgoblin would have made their appearances. On September 1, 2009, the television rights for Spider-Man were returned to Marvel by Sony. The effect this had on The Spectacular Spider-Man's future was unknown. At the time, President of Marvel Animation Eric Rollman further stated that "no decisions have been made either way" regarding the fate of the series. Newsaramareported that the series' cancellation occurred just after The Walt Disney Company acquired Marvel Entertainment in December 2009. On April 13, 2010, Marvel announced that a new series based on the Ultimate Ultimate_Spider-Manstoryline will be aired on Disney XD in Fall 2011. On April 14, 2010, Tom Tom_Brevoortof Marvel Comics confirmed that The Spectacular Spider-Manhas ended and will give way to the new series. The same day, Greg Weisman told IGN: "I've heard nothing directly from Marvel, but I think the Ultimate Spider-Man announcement makes it fairly clear that Spectacular is over." Marvel Animation and Sony also commented on this to Marvel Animation Age, confirming that the series has ceased production.
No. Cancelled after 2 seasons.
It all depends if Peter Parker aka Spiderman decides to start helping people again. In my understanding their should be a season two and more because season was too good to go one for so long then end. I mean seriously. The first episode of season 2 should start with peter and Mj being happily in love and liveing their college life together. Then their is a disturbance and peter decides to become spiderman again. Peter finally realizes that his duty is to protect manhattan from the evil within. And you can put in all kinds of enemies in their two. so thats why there should be a season two because there is so much more to offer with that show and its a teenage drama as well as spiderman type show so in my case the show should go on!
its never gonna come out never ever they made a sequel to spectacular spider-man to ultimate spider-man maybe in the future they will make but it probably won't happen. We all miss spectacular spider-man -_-
No. Instead of going with a third movie in the Andrew Garfield reboot series, the Spider-Man franchise was rebooted yet again after the rights were reverted back to Marvel with star Tom Holland taking over the role.

There was a Spider-Man 3. It included Sandman and Venom (the alien version of Spiderman with the black suit) and was made a few years ago.

The Creater says their might be a season 3 depending on the ratings. The ratings have been good so far
The season was halted half way through, and the remaining episodes will air starting October 5th 2009. Judging from the year between the end of season 1 and its DVD release, we could have to wait until Holidays 2010 for the season 2 DVD release Since Vol. 8 just came about about a month ago, I'd expect a Complete Second Season DVD before the end of the year. (Vol. 1-4 are Season 1, Vol. 5-8 are Season 2)
