The first episode, Pilot
I wasn't able to find an answer to this question. I found out that it is a picture of Myers Lake or the scene where the opening credits take place. It also first added to the syndicated episodes. When the show originally aired, the end credits had the sponsors at the end. Youtube has an example, if you type in "Original Closing Credits The Andy Griffith Show 1961." The sponsor changed for each show. I did find a website that has a dedicated and knowledgeable fan base. I would recommend posting your question to their forum. The webpage is called "The Andy Griffith Show Rerun Watchers Club."Sources:"The Andy Griffith Show Rerun Watchers Club's Mayberry FAQs." The Andy Griffith Show Rerun Watchers Club. 2015.
