St. Silas, then onto Dingle Vale Secondary Modern School. He was very sick as a kid and was in and out of the hospital so often he didnt qualify for "High School" after taking aptitude tests. He dropped out and worked.

When he was seventeen, he took a job at Henry Hunt and Son's engineering firm as an apprentice joiner for awhile before being a full time drummer with Rory Storm and the Hurricanes.
