In Pokemon Gold, Silver, Crystal, HeartGold and SoulSilver you can easily catch a wild shiny Gyarados in the Lake of Rage. Alternatively you can catch a wild shiny Gyarados anywhere else with a Super Rod or evolve a shiny Magikarp though both are extremely rare.

∙ 9y agoShiny Pokémon are a special type of Pokémon, they basically have a different coloration of what's usual for their species. The term was coined by players and it makes reference to the sparkly effects that accompany the appearance of these characters. They were introduced onward Generation II and their appearance is a rare event, it can't be predicted nor caused, so, in order to get any of these Pokémon one would need to rely in luck.
