The Wheel of Fortune older programs are owned by the Game Show Network. I do not know if they will ever show the February 1996 Sweethearts week again. They are not showing any of the older episodes right now. The Wheel of Fortune shows only episodes from the previous season when they repeat episodes on weekends. The summer encore episodes come from earlier current season episodes.
While they have invited contestants back during the shows history they do not have any form of a tournament of champions like on Jeopardy because it is not something determined by only skill you must also have fortune or luck to win

No they do make the rules so they can break them, but you only get to be on Wheel of Fortune once. It is considered a game that includes fortune and luck and because spinning the wheel can end a turn it is not possible to have championship matches like on Jeopardy. It is not as important to have solved the puzzle first you have to solve it when it is your turn
The item does not have a good name. They also use that kind of device on Wheel of Fortune to buzz in on three questions a show. On wheel of fortune the best they could come up with was signaling device. You're welcome to think of a name and let Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune know.
