"George of the Jungle" was filmed primarily in a former airplane hangar in Playa Vista California. Some of the jungle scenes were filmed on stage, where dirt and plants were imported to look like the jungle around George's tree house as well as other parts of that jungle. Other areas were filmed in Hawaii, and all of the San Francisco scenes were filmed on location in San Francisco. These include shots of George hanging from the Golden Gate Bridge, for which the bridge was historically closed.
