The first models with 4 USB ports are the only ones and many of the available models have been repaired many times and are not a safe investment. Even reconditioned models have no long term warranty and sell for as much as a 320 GB PS3 although used and many years old.

Think about it, if people could play PS3 games on a PS1 or PS2 then why not buy a ps1 for 5 dollars and play the ps3 games on it? You also can not purchase a new PS3 and play PS2 games on it and have not been able to for years.
