The King of Queens (Rego Park) All in the Family (Glendale)
Chiswick, an area in the western borough of Hounslow in London, England.
Filming for the Friends took place at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California but the series revolves around a group of friends in Manhattan, particularly in an apartment building at the corner of Bedford and Grove Sts.
Friends is set in New York City (Greenwich Village, occasionally Long Island), however it was filmed at the Warner Bros Studios in California
A conventional sitcom is traditionally family-oriented and with a laugh-track. One in which the story-lines are usually pretty standalone and with little to no major ongoing plot threads. The status quo is usually the same by the end of each episode. A non-conventional sitcom is one which goes against these rules to some extent. No laugh-track for example, or breaking the fourth wall. Also, developing plot-lines and characters. A good example of this would be How I Met Your Mother, or Friends, where the characters go through major changes throughout the life of the show. I'd say Scrubs is a non-conventional sitcom in that it plays around with different kinds of humour (slapstick etc), has no laugh-track, utilizes a voice-over and even down to the fact that it's set in a hospital rather than a domestic family situation. All of these factors point towards non-conventional over conventional. Hope this helps. :)

No. A sitcom can be set & filmed in the literal outdoors however, it probably wouldn't be very cost effective.

I think Kelsey Grammer has set the record for playing the same sitcom character, he has played Frasier Crane for twenty years.
