Bond, James Bond, was played by Sean Connery in the official franchise and, to me

was the perfect Bond, with just the right mixture of sexiness, gentleness, intimidation, intelligence, suaveness, elegance, roughness and skill.

Connery, a truck driver, completely put the other Bond actors in the shade with

his unique style of strength and consideration for the ladies. The innocent ladies,

that is. The ones who tried to betray or knife him in he back wound up being

thrown against the wall or whatever else he deemed they deserved.

And, in the Connery roles, there were many spots of humor, both language and

action. For example, one actress with whom he wound up in a haystack was named "Pussy Galore," and the way he pronounced it as "Puz-zie," you'd never

recognize it.

Connery was very versatile and limber, which made it easy for him to escape the

unusual group of goons who were continually chasing him. He was one of the

first actors to have a beeper in his car (the forerunner of cell phones), which seemed very modern at the time.

Connery always got his girl and his goon. Couldn't beat Connery, "shaken, not stirred."
