Both Jupiter and Saturn have a large amount of moons, some of them quite large.
Most of the large moons in our solar system rotate so that they always show the same side to the planet. This is caused by "tidal forces". The tides have slowed the moons' rotations down until their rotation periods equal their orbital periods. The moons also slow down the planets; our planet is rotating slower and slower. Once again, this affects the rotation. However, since angular momentum MUST be conserved, the Moon also gets farther and farther from our planet, thus affecting its revolution around Earth.
Pluto ... which I think was the first member of the newly-defined "dwarf planet" category ... has two known moons.
Yavin has 26 moons out of which 3 are habitable: Yavin 4, Yavin 8, and Yavin 13.
They may both vary in sizes but are smaller than a planet. There are a lot of them. They hit large objects like planets, moons or stars often.
i don't know here i heard this but i believe thir planet its called Jadoon,it was small and red in size with two large moons and six big suns the planet had pink clouds dark green continents and red oceans. if your talking doctor who, they live at the shadow proclomation
Objects such as moons or satellites that revolve around a planet are typically referred to as "natural satellites" or "moons." Artificial satellites placed in orbit around a planet are simply called "satellites."
Europa is one of the many moons of Jupiter (one of the four main moons).
Titan revolves around Saturn, the sixth planet from the sun, and second largest in the solar system. Titan is one of Saturn's 61 moons.
Ganymede revolves around jupiter. THerefore it is one of Jupiter's moons.
A satellite revolves around a planet while it is revolving around around the sun (star). For example, moon (earth's natural satellite) revolves around earth while earth is revolving around the sun.
One of the moons of Saturn revolves clockwise around the planet, while the other moons revolve in normal solar system direction, counterclockwise. Why this moon behaves differently is not known.
Titan is not one of them, but there are several moons that revolve in retrograde orbits. The most well-known is probably Triton, the largest moon of Neptune.Triton is the only large moon in the solar system to have retrograde motion.

Because the Moon revolves around the Earth so that Moon is considered as a satellite. Also, a planet, like Earth, revolves around the Sun. So that's a sort of satellite too.
No, there are not moons or stars ON planet earth, but there are moons and stars around planet earth. == ==
