Of course people have the choice to do good deeds or bad deeds. We have willpower, we have an intellect, we have a choice. Unfortunately, we don't realize the difference between what we can choose and what we can't. There are circumstances unfolding in our life, and these are because of our Karma, our past actions. We can't change that. It is just like the road that we are driving on: the road is already laid, but we are driving a car, the car is in our hands, we can choose to stop or to go on, to take left or right, to go fast or slow; we can't change the road. Similarly we can't change the circumstances that are unfolding in our life due to our past Karma, but we can change our present actions. Our present actions are a result of our choice, our willpower, our intellect and our mind. It is upto us to choose our actions, and these actions will become Karma which will lead to our destiny, our future circumstances, but we can definitely choose our actions.
To choose that, it would be best if we knew the vehicle and intended use. -ie, touring, off-road, racing etc.
Robert Frost wrote in the first paragraph the two journeys as a road diverged in a yellow wood. He is only one person so he could not travel bot paths. Frost did look and think ahead in order to choose the path he thought would be the right one. He could not be certain of the outcome of either path. Frost weight his options of the "grassy and wanted wear" a place he had never visited. To the place he could visit, in the end he decided to take the new road to a new life. The moral to the story is you can go down the same road to life, or choose a new road to life, the choose is your.
It depends on your perspective and preference. If you prefer a clear path with no obstacles or distractions, you might choose the road on the left with nothing right. If you want to explore new opportunities and take a different direction, you might choose the road on the right with nothing left.

As did the speaker in The Road Not Taken, I would have taken "the one less traveled by." I am a hard core individualist and am very comfortable taking less traveled roads, marching to a different drummer, and any other cliches you may wish to use.The speaker in the poem recognizes the potential validity of the more traveled road. The two roads are both undisturbed by travelers at that point and there appears to be no obvious advantage to one over the other:Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the sameThe decisive factor for the speaker is that one road "wanted wear"; it was not as commonly used and so would provide perhaps more challenge, certainly a different type of adventure than the norm for most travelers. The speaker notes that the more traveled road might be visited "another day" but recognizes that life's paths seldom circle back around to make such a return visit possible.
