A Journey to Peace: My Escape to Kerala's Backwaters

Life had become a blur — deadlines, bills, and the constant noise of city chaos. I felt like I was drowning in stress, and nothing seemed to help. One day, while scrolling through my phone, I came across a picture of serene waters and lush greenery. It said, "Kerala – God’s Own Country." Something about it pulled me in.

I booked a one-way ticket.

When I arrived in Kerala, I heard about its backwaters — a network of canals, rivers, and lakes. Intrigued, I took a houseboat ride in Alleppey. As we drifted slowly over the still waters, lined with swaying coconut trees and tiny villages, I felt a calm I hadn’t known in years. The rhythm of the water, the sounds of birds, the smell of fresh spices — everything felt healing.

I met locals who welcomed me with warm smiles and stories. I ate simple meals made with love, and I slept under a sky full of stars.

Kerala’s backwaters didn’t just show me a beautiful landscape — they showed me peace. I came looking for an escape, but I found something deeper: a piece of myself I’d forgotten
