Upon a visit to her friend John Travola's home, Oprah discovered she's in the town full of 'Woods' descendants. The aunt she's looking for was a native of South Carolina, just as Frank Woods, Sr.

Frank Woods was a mysterious man who never revealed much about himself. He married a part Cherokee, part British petite colored woman named Julia Desdemona White, and had 2 children by her. Julia died of childbirth in 1917, leaving Frank to raise a 1 1/2 year old boy, Edgar. and newborn baby girl, Julia Elouise Lora.

These two tiny tots were actually raised by Adaline, Julia's devoted Christain mother.

Edgar grew up and married. He had 12 children. Julia Elouise moved to Jacksonville and married. She had 7 children.. Her youngest, Val ,became the first female Chief of Police in Orlando.

It is believed Oprah therefore met some of Edgar's offsprings and/or grandchildren in the region.

Is she related? Very exciting for Edgar and Julia Elouise's offspring, but yet has to be verified!

On a vacation in central Florida, Oprah visited her old friend, John Travolta, in a small country town called Anthony.
As she became well acquainted with the surrounding atmosphere, she discovered the history included a large family 'Woods' who originated from South Carolina, as did her aunt, a Ms. Woods , a native of the Palmetto State. Rev. Frank Woods was a traveling preacher, who mysteriously kept to himself. One Sunday morn, during a most rigorous sermon, he became so sweaty, a beautiful petite woman stepped up and handed him a fan.
Rev. Woods was so taken by this little 'doll', that he took pleasure in having suppers with her family. Julia Desdemona White a stunning petite negro woman who was part Cherokee, part United Kingdom. She resembled the actress Thandie Newton, the movie 'Beloved'.
Often, she entertained him on the organ she'd worked hard to buy and teach herself music.
He married her in 1914. They had 2 children. Julia died in 1917, of childbirth, leaving Frank to raise 1 ½ year old Edgar and 12 day old Julia Elouise.
Adaline, the devote Christian mother of Julia, raised these two tiny tots on the very same property Travolta now resides.
Edgar eloped in 1937. He had 12 children. He remained in Anthony all his life.
After the 1944 death of Adaline, Julia Elouise moved to Jacksonville, a booming city 200 miles north of Anthony. She married and had 7 children. The youngest Val, became the first black female Chief of Police.
Is Oprah a relative?
That has yet to be determined.
