Show TV was created in 1992.
Tina Fey, who is the first woman to be head writer of Saturday Night Live, created the NBC-TV series based on her experiences backstage at a late-night comedy show. The name, 30 Rock, comes from the address of NBC Studios in New York, 30 Rockefeller Center. Fey has written many of the episodes and is an executive producer of the show. She stars as Liz Lemon, who is the head writer of an SNL-type show, called TGS With Tracy Jordan. Alec Baldwin also stars in the sitcom.
The television show 30 Rock has been nominated for 57 Emmy awards in just its first six seasons. The show has won 14 Emmy awards along with a large number of other awards.
30 Rock is named after 30 Rockerfeller Plaza, where the Saturday Night Live Studios are, which is what 30 Rock is based on.
