General Wolfe: British general, General Montcalm: French General
Montreal
About 60 soldiers fighting on the British side were killed, and about 200 on the French. The commanders of both sides lost their lives as a result. Their names were General James Wolfe and Louis-Joseph, Marquis de Montcalm.
He placed the fingers of the French commander on a scar made by a bullet.
Montcalm wanted to fight European style in a foreign land where jungles and trees were evident. In the Plains of Abraham, we see that this completely fails. He also did not wait for reinforcement before attacking the British, his men were exhausted from the march.
Fort Niagara
French ironclad Montcalm was created in 1870.
French armoured cruiser Montcalm was created on 1902-03-24.

Louis-Joseph, Marquis de Montcalm, was the General of the French troops at the Battle of the Plains of Abraham (sometimes called the Battle of Quebec) which occurred on September 12, 1759, and which lasted for barely an hour. British troops, led by General James Wolfe, defeated the French on the Plains of Abraham, just outside Quebec City. Both Montcalm and Wolfe died from wounds suffered in battle. The Battle of the Plains of Abraham was a major victory for the British in the Seven Years War (known in the US as the French and Indian War).
