If you mean when it was discovered by Western Europeans, then that question would probably be indefinite owing to Europe, Asia, and Africa being part of single landmass.

I would hazard a guess at somewhere during the last Ice Age, probably by a Nomadic tribe who wandered to Northern Africa by accident.

Otherwise, humans have always resided in the continent of Africa, and most of our evolutionary trail seems to have occurred in Africa.
