Lysander is in love with Hermia at the beginning of the play but cannot marry her because her father will not consent. Demetrius is also sort of in love with her but cannot marry her because she refuses to marry him.

Lysander gained Hermia's favor through his genuine love and devotion to her. He wooed her with heartfelt words and romantic gestures, emphasizing their deep connection and shared dreams. Unlike her father, who favored Demetrius, Lysander respected Hermia's feelings and sought to elope with her, demonstrating his commitment and willingness to defy societal norms for their love. This sincerity and determination ultimately won Hermia's heart.
LoveAn example of the love in the book is when Lysander runs away with Hermia into the forest where they would meet and get married. Also, many other different kinds of love occurred in the play such as unrequited love and perplexed love. A great example of unrequited love is when Lysander quotes "The course of true love never did run smooth" after Egeus had declared Hermia to marry Demetrius. Furthermore, a situation of perplexed love was when the juices of a flower were anointed on Lysander's and Demetrius's eyes by Puck, causing them to love the first thing their eyes were on which turned out to be Helena. This confusion caused Hermia to become perplexed into agitated.JealousyAn example of jealousy was when Helena deeply in love with Demetrius, who is in love with Hermia. Helena is jealous of Hermia's beauty and she claims that she too is as beautiful. She often wonders what Hermia has that she doesn't that makes men follow her. So, out of jealousy, Helena tells Demetrius that Hermia and Lysander plan to escape to the woods.DominanceDominance is having the ability to control situations and have some sense of power and organisation in a situation. At the start of the play, Duke Theseus can be described as dominating. We are introduced to him as high class character who authority over many of the characters in the play. For instance, when Egeus, Hermia's father who dominates her, asks Theseus to apply a horrible decision if she refuses to his decisions: To marry Demetrius, join a nunnery or be killed.
The two lead males, Lysander and Demetrius, are both in love with the same girl, Hermia. This love makes them competitive and spiteful. When Puck and Oberon make those men fall in love with Helena, they once again disregard the feelings of others to follow their love. They insult Hermia and reject her, leaving her alone and confused.
I recently played Hermia, and this was what I got from the character. It is open to interpretation, of course. Hermia is insecure about her height, but has generally high self esteem. She is good at reading subtext, and knows exactly what people mean even if they don't say it straight. She is obviously deeply in love with Lysander, and has certain expectations of what love should be. She is smart and kind, but easily jealous. She has always been well-off socially and financially, and as a teen becomes a bit of a rebel against her over-protective father.
hermia and Helena are friends. but Helena gets jealous of hermia because hermia gets the love of both lysander and demetrius, the guy she loves.
In A Midsummer's Night Dream, Helena believes that Lysander's love for her and Hermia's lack of understanding is a ruse or prank. Seeing that Lysander's love for Hermia was a strong love previous to the nectar applied by Robin, it seems implausible that he would fall in love for her so strongly. In addition, Hermia's complete confusion of what is happening promotes the thought that Lysander's love of Hermia is false for if Lysander truly loved Helena, wouldn't Hermia have known?
Before the play starts Helena is engaged with Demetrius, and Hermia and Lysander are in love with each other and are planning to get married. But then Demetrius falls in love with Hermia and wants to marry her, Hermia still loves Lysander and does not want to marry Demetrius (Hermia's father wants Hermia to marry Demetrius). Helena still loves Demetrius. Then Lysander loves Helena who loves Demetrius who loves Hermia, Hermia still loves Lysander. Demetrius then changes his thoughts and starts to love Helena again, but Lysander is still in love with Helena. But then every thing changes as everyone goes back to who they loved in the first place; Helena -> Demetrius Demetrius -> Helena Hermia -> Lysander Lysander -> Hermia Very confusing! :)
All four of them are in love. Only Hermia and Lysander are in love with each other. Helena is in love with Demetrius but Demetrius is unfortunately in love with Hermia
Hermia loves Lysander. Lysander and Demetrius both love Hermia. Helena loves Demetrius.
She is described as being small and dark, in contrast to Helena who is tall and fair. The Lord Chamberlain's Men at this time must have had two boy apprentices who matched this description, although hair colour could easily be changed with a wig.
Hermia is the daughter of Egeus in the play "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Egeus wants Hermia to marry Demetrius, but she is in love with Lysander. This conflict drives much of the plot in the play.
She loved Lysander.
When Helena hears about Hermia and Lysander's plan, she tells Demetrius and betrays Hermia because they were friends. When Puck changes Bottom's head to an ass, the entire group flees from Bottom. When Lysander loves Helena because of the love potion, he betrays Hermia. When Hermia loves Lysander, she betrays her father to be with Lysander for the rest of her life. Demetrius betrayed Helena when he saw Hermia.
